The aim of this research was to explore the perceptions of civilian authorityemployees regarding everyday-cooperation between their authorities and theSwedish Armed Forces. To achieve this goal qualitative interviews wereconducted to gather empirical evidence using the theory as a lens. Thecollected data was analysed using thematic analysis. The results of the studyreveal six themes which is perceived to affect cooperation. Firstly, there isambiguity about mandates, which could hinder effective collaboration.Secondly, time imbalance emerges as another challenge, as different prioritiesand schedules could hinder smooth coordination. Finally, a lack of knowledgeof each other's roles was identified as a barrier to effective collaboration.Overall, this research sheds light on the cultural dynamics that shapegovernment-military cooperation and highlights the need for improvedclarity, time management and mutual understanding to foster successful partnerships in this context.
