Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) is a collective name that describes the function of military’s interaction with civil actors. This cooperation aims to create favourable conditions that support the implementation of military operations. Discussions regarding civil-military role distribution and cooperation within it have, however, been actualized through an increased national defence focus. The purpose of this study is to highlight the extent of collaboration dynamics within civil-military cooperation and to analyse the underlying factors. The investigation is based on a national Swedish perspective with a focus on only one of the focus areas of collaboration research, namely the process. The results indicate that collaboration dynamics in civil-military cooperation were well implemented in the Armed Forces during the 2014 Västmanlandsbranden. Within all the collaboration dynamics, different measures of integration are demonstrated. At the same time, both interviews and evaluations with a link to previous collaboration research suggest that several factors could have improved and deepened this interaction by simple means.
