Modern conflicts has shown the increasing relevance of cyberwarfare due to the exponential leaps in technology that’s occurring over time. The ways cyber-warfare operations can influence today's conflicts are many and varied. Scholars are, however in agreement that a fundamental lack of knowledge and practical skills plague this new phenomenon. This lack of both knowledge and skill is especially visible when relating toclassical strategic concepts such as deterrence. The purpose of this study will be to clarify how well Sweden manages to frame its ability of cyber defense in relation to the criteria’sfor deterrence, since Sweden has deterrence as a security strategy. An analytical framework was produced that aims to analyze the different institutions contributions to the general deterrence within the cyber arena. This analytical framework is then applied to open-source information from the chosen authorities involved in the cyber defense of Sweden. The result then shows a cautiously positive result in the question of cyber defense in relation toSwedish deterrence strategy.
