Abstract [en]

Issues regarding gender inequality within the Swedish armed forces are previously demonstrated and concluded by researchers. The problem is represented trough an organizational context by factors deemed important to explain the topic in question.

The purpose of this study was to analyze these gender inequalities and partition of sexes in the organization. This was done by the way of applying a theoretical framework regarding a gender perspective. The study was implemented through interviews which supplied necessary data and the material was then categorized and analyzed through at thematical analysis based upon the answers given by the informants. The identified themes were organizational culture, equality work and organization identity

The results show that a gender perspective can illustrate the current partition between sexes to a certain degree since organizational culture and organizational identity could be explains by the theoretical framework.  Furthermore, the result is not unambiguous since equality work could not in its entirety be explained by the theoretical framework. Thus, more research is required to better the frame the problem and more research is also required to enable better generalization of the results.
