The principles of logistics in Swedish doctrines appear different to sets of principles in other countries. The content of Swedish doctrines regarding logistics also appear to differentiate from the content military theory prescribes. According to research in strategy and operational art, logistics is a key component when planning military strategy and operations. Research also shows that likeness between doctrines regarding logistics is an important factor for success when military organisations are to collaborate. According to Swedish doctrine, this is highly prioritized in the Swedish Armed Forces. This thesis characterizes normative documents published by the Swedish Armed Forces with the purpose of showing the contents regarding logistics that they contain. The theoretical framing uses the logistics principles of Moshe Kress. The results show the extent of content regarding logistic principles in the documents. Results further shows that the Swedish Military Strategy doctrine does not discuss any logistical principles at all. This is surprising as research regarding strategy and logistics states that strategy needs to clearly express how the logistics function ought to be organized.
